Here we are — 2026. Welcome.
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to see a lot of social media posts, adverts, and everyday chatter about New Year’s resolutions. Becoming a “better” version of ourselves. New year, new me. Dieting. Exercising. Doing more. Being more.
Let’s pause there for a moment.
I will always encourage growth and evolution — that’s a beautiful part of being human. But true growth should come from a place of compassion, not guilt or pressure. If you want to feel healthier, let it be because you care for yourself. If you want to move your body more, let it be because you want to feel strong and supported — not because you’re ashamed of it. If you want to eat differently, let it be to nourish your body and soul, not to punish yourself.
When change comes from kindness, it’s sustainable. When it comes from shame, it rarely lasts.
This philosophy sits at the heart of my 10-week Self-Compassion Yoga Course, beginning Sunday January 11th. Over these ten weeks, we’ll gently explore the body from the feet all the way to the head, using mindful movement to encourage awareness, acceptance, and inner support. This isn’t about fixing yourself — it’s about getting curious, moving with intention, and meeting yourself exactly where you are, with kindness.
Alongside this, throughout January my weekly classes will be centred around Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) — a grounding, expansive posture that encourages strength, balance, and openness through the body. Trikonasana helps to build stability in the legs, create space through the chest and shoulders, and invite a sense of ease while remaining supported. It’s a beautiful posture for cultivating both strength and softness — something many of us need at this time of year.
You can explore this theme in my Monday Unwind classes, designed to help you release tension and settle into the week, and my Wednesday Wake-Up classes, offering a steady, energising start to your day. Both are available to book via my website.
On a slightly different note — a little honest behind-the-scenes moment! After a whirlwind of website issues, I made the bold decision to roll up my sleeves and learn how to manage my website myself. Slowly but surely, the problems disappeared, and I’m happy to say the site is now simple, functional, and doing exactly what it should.
No accounts to create — just visit the page, choose your class, and follow the booking steps. Easy.
I can’t wait to welcome new faces this year and continue practising with those already part of this lovely community. Let’s step into 2026 together — with intention, kindness, and a little less pressure. 💛
